The Fish and Seafood in Europe — A Food System Approach for Sustainability report is based on a food system approach that aims at delving into the knowledge base and web of players and activities that enable the EU to produce, market and consume fish and seafood. It then assesses the implications of the analysis of this food system for EU policies and the development of knowledge as a means of transforming Europe's food system in a way that is consistent with sustainability targets. The report identifies three complementary pathways in the EU's current policy framework for food and for fish and seafood, and in the relevant knowledge base, which can help support a more functional system.
